Wellness & Vaccinations

Have you ever caught yourself looking at your healthy pet and thinking, “There’s no need to bring her to the vet. I’ll just wait and make an appointment when she isn’t feeling well”?

It’s important to remember that veterinary care isn’t just for when your pet is sick. To the contrary, the very foundation of quality health care is in preventing illness from occurring in the first place.

Our animal companions are only with us for such a precious amount of time, so it’s extremely important that we do everything within our power to extend that time, and to make their years with us as happy and healthy as possible. The most effective way to achieve this goal is through routine wellness care. At Cornell Center Animal Hospital, we place a strong emphasis on wellness and preventative care because we want to see your pet live a long, happy and healthy life.

The wellness services at CCAH include everything from thorough physical examinations, to parasite prevention and control, to nutrition and weight management, behavioral advice, and anything else you or our doctors may deem to be important in keeping your companion happy and healthy. We’ll develop a customized vaccination plan that is tailored specifically to your pet, to help keep them safe from a wide variety of illnesses and diseases. Depending on your pet’s age, we’ll discuss and make recommendations based on their specific health care needs, such as puppy/kitten or geriatric care.

One of the biggest benefits of routine wellness care is that, by examining your pet on a regular basis, our doctors are able to identify potential medical problems before they have a chance to develop into something more serious. The earlier we can detect and address disease, the better the chances of a positive outcome for your pet. Without regular visits, signs and symptoms are often missed, allowing disease to progress, and making it much more challenging to combat once it’s finally discovered.

Finally, but perhaps most importantly, when you bring your pet to see us once or twice a year, you provide all of us at CCAH with the opportunity to get to know you and your pet on a more personal level. We believe that by establishing a solid partnership with you, and developing a lifelong bond with your animal friend, we are better able to provide the most precise, effective care possible throughout the life of your pet.

Don’t wait until your companion is sick to bring them in for care. Give them the gift of a lifetime of good health by making a commitment to wellness care.
